Getting started with the Verifone V200c/V400c Plus
Updated over a week ago

This article provides the general steps to inspect and install your Verifone V200c/V400c Plus chip and PIN terminal for use with WellnessLiving.

When you receive your Verifone V200c/V400c Plus terminal, ensure the following components are supplied:

  • The chip and PIN terminal

  • The power supply

Inspect the terminal

To inspect the terminal, complete the following:

  1. Verify that there is a serial number of the terminal. The serial number is a series of numbers formatted as XXX-XXX-XXX and located on a sticker on the back of the terminal.

  2. Verify that the serial number on the terminal is the same as the serial number on the package in which it was shipped.

  3. Inspect the terminal for the following issues:

    • Missing seals or screws.

    • Additional wires or labels.

    • Holes in the device.

    • Anything inserted or attached to any part of the terminal.

  4. If the serial numbers are missing or don’t match, or if you find any other issues, contact [email protected].

Load a paper roll in the thermal printer

To load a paper roll in the thermal printer, complete the following:

Note: Both the V200c and V400c Plus terminals use 57 x 40 mm (2.25”) rolls of single-ply, thermal-sensitive paper. To order thermal paper, see Purchasing hardware from Wellnessliving.

  1. Locate the latch for the paper compartment at the top of the device.

  2. Pull up the latch for the paper compartment and swing the cover outwards.

  3. Install the thermal paper:

    1. Place the paper roll with the thermal side facing outwards. You can easily identify the thermal side of the paper:

      • Typically, the thermal side is glossy and smooth compared to the non-thermal side, which is matte and rough.

      • Perform a fingernail test. If you run your fingernail along the receipt roll, the thermal side will produce a marking.

    2. To avoid the paper roll getting jammed, ensure the paper sticks out a bit when placing it into the device.

  4. Close the paper compartment cover and set the latch back in place.

Connect power to the terminal

To connect power to the terminal, complete the following:

  1. Remove the rear cover from the terminal.

  2. Locate the power cord port on the terminal, which may have a lightning icon next to it.

  3. Plug the round barrel connector of the power cord into the power cord port.

    • After inserting the round barrel connector into the power cord port, you can lock the barrel connector to make sure it remains attached to the terminal.

  4. Plug the outlet of the power cable to an electrical outlet. The terminal should automatically turn on.

    • As the terminal powers up, the display may turn on and off a few times.

Configure network connectivity

To configure network connectivity, complete the following:

Connect your terminal to the internet so that it can communicate with the payment platform. Follow the instructions below to connect your chip and PIN terminal to either an ethernet or Wi-Fi network.

Note: Chip and PIN terminals are configured to only connect to one type of network. If you want to switch from Wi-Fi to ethernet, or vice-versa, you’ll need to contact Paragon’s customer care. For more information, see Contact information for merchant processors and ACH providers.

Connect via ethernet

To connect an ethernet cord to the terminal, complete the following :

Caution: Connecting the incorrect cable type to the ethernet port or connecting the ethernet cable to the wrong port may damage the terminal.

  1. Take off the casing underneath the terminal.

  2. Locate the ethernet port, which may have a connectivity icon next to it .

  3. Plug the ethernet cord into the ethernet port.

Connect via Wi-Fi

To connect via Wi-Fi, complete the following:

Note: When entering the Wi-Fi password, there is a time limit of 1.8 seconds after the first character is entered into the password field to enter subsequent characters. If you take too long to input the remaining characters, you may be timed out and returned to the previous screen for security reasons.

  1. Turn the device on. The main menu will be displayed.

  2. Press and hold the 1, 5, and 9 keys at the same time.

  3. Select Com Control then select Wifi > Configuration.

  4. At the password prompt, enter 200331.

  5. Select OK.

  6. Select WiFi Scan for a list of public networks.

  7. Select the network you would like the device to use.

  8. Select Add then select Pre-Shared-Key (PSK).

  9. Enter password for the selected Wi-Fi network.

    • For special characters or symbols use the following keys on the device keypad:

      • Press the * key to select an asterisk (*), comma (,), apostrophe (‘), or quotation marks (“).

      • Press the 0 key to select a zero (0), space ( ), dash (-), and plus (+).

      • Press the # to select a hashtag/pound (#), exclamation mark (!), colon (:), semi-colon (;), At sign (@), equal (=), ampersand (&), back slash (\), open parentheses (“), close parentheses (“), carrot (^), percent (%), and dollar sign ($).

  10. Select OK then select Yes.

  11. Tap OK to exit network configuration settings.

  12. Tap the red X until it returns you to the main menu.

Caution: This terminal offers support for both Wi-Fi and ethernet, however we strongly recommend using ethernet for optimal performance. Relying solely on Wi-Fi can lead to stability issues that may cause payment processing errors.
