Sales and Attendance Summary Report

You can access the Sales and Attendance Summary Report by clicking the App Drawer button then clicking View All > Reports > Sales > Sales and Attendance Summary.

The Sales and Attendance Summary Report is a sales report that displays a summary of your business operations, including sales and client visits, during the selected date range.

View options in the Sales and Attendance Summary Report

Option

Description

Expand/Collapse all

Expands or collapses all sections of the report.

Accounting method

Determines which sales to include based on accounting method. For more information about accrual and cash accounting methods, see FAQ: Reports.

Notes:

  • If an account tab session pass, account tab membership, or dollar value gift card was sold along with other items or as part of a package, they won’t be displayed when Accrual is selected, because no revenue was actually recognized.

  • If you select the Accrual & Cash option for this filter, transactions may appear more than once on this page, which will cause an inaccurate value to be displayed in the Total Net Sales summary card.

Date selector [img]

Allows you to select which sales to include based on business day.

  • Click the arrows to switch between dates.

  • Click the date to set a custom date range.

Summary tables in the Sales and Attendance Summary Report

Sales Summary by Revenue Category

Heading

Description

Revenue Category

The name of the revenue category is listed in this column.

Click on a revenue category to open the Sales Details by Revenue Category Report pre-filtered for the revenue category you selected.

Quantity

The total number of sales of the revenue category type during the selected date range is listed in this column.

Fully or partially refunded transactions aren’t included in the quantity count, but still appear in the Sales Details by Revenue Category Report.

Subtotal

The value of the total number of sales of the revenue category type before taxes or discounts during the selected date range is listed in this column.

Discount Amount

The total value of discounts applied to sales for the revenue category.

Returns

The total value of any refunds applied to sales for the revenue category.

The amount displayed in this column will either be negative, or zero. Includes surcharge refunds, excludes tax refunds.

Total Net Sales

The value of the Subtotal column subtracted by the Discount Amount and Returns columns. Excludes taxes and tips.

Note: Surcharges are included in their own revenue category. This means that this summary card may not match the Total Net Sales summary card found in the Sales Details by Revenue Category Report.

Total Taxes

The total value of taxes applied to sales for the revenue category.

If there is only one type of tax set up in your store settings, this column will be named after the tax you have created. If you have two or more taxes set up in your store settings, this column will appear as Total Taxes.

Returns Tax

The total value of tax refunds for the date range you selected. The amount displayed in this column will be negative, or zero.

Total Paid

The sum of the Total Net Sales and Total Taxes columns, subtracted by the Returns Tax columns.

Sales Summary by Payment Method

Heading

Description

Payment Method

The name of the Payment Method from the All Sales Report.

Clicking a payment method in this column will open the All Sales Report and automatically filter it by the payment method that you clicked.

Total without Tax

Sum of the Total Paid column in the Payment View of the All Sales Report for rows using the associated payment method. Includes surcharges and tips. Excludes refunds and taxes.

Total Taxes

Sum of taxes paid for the associated payment method during the selected date range. Excludes refunds.

  • Only displays if taxes are set up in your store settings.

  • If your business only uses one custom tax, the heading name will change to the name of your custom tax.

Returns

Sum of refunds using the associated payment method during the date range you’ve selected. Values in this column will be negative. Includes refunds for surcharges, but not taxes.

Returns Tax

Sum of tax refunded for the associated payment method during the date range you’ve selected. Values in this column will be negative.

Only displays if taxes are set up in your store settings.

Total Paid

The sum of the Total Without Tax and Total Taxes columns, minus the Returns and Returns Tax columns.

Cash Reconciliation Summary

Heading

Description

Payment method

The payment method used to complete the sale.

Clicking on Cash will open the Cash Closeout Report and filter it by the same date range that you had selected in the Sales and Attendance Summary Report.

Total Sales

The total cash sales accrued during the selected date range.

Total Amount Counted

The total cash amount counted during the selected date range.

This amount is the same as the sum of the Actual Cash Counted column in the Cash Closeout Report for the same date range.

Over/Short

The amount by which the cash count is over or short.

This amount is the same as the sum of the Over/Short column in the Cash Closeout Report for the same date range.

Total Deposits

The total amount of cash deposited to the bank during the selected date range.

This amount is the same as the sum of the Cash Deposit column in the Cash Closeout Report for the same date range.

Date of Last Closeout

The date and time of the last closeout performed during the selected date range.

This column is blank when there is no cash closeout during the selected date range.

Batch Reconciliation Summary

Approved table

This table displays payment methods that have been approved, but not yet settled.

Heading

Description

Payment Method

The payment method used to complete the sale.

Clicking on a payment method will open the Batch Reconciliation Report and filter it by the same date range and payment method that you had selected in the Sales and Attendance Summary Report.

From Card Reader

If the card reader payment method was used to make the purchase, this column displays the amount of the transaction that was approved.

From Virtual Terminal

If the virtual terminal payment method was used to make the purchase, this column displays the amount of the transaction that was approved.

For ACH transactions this column will display the amount of the transaction with the Waiting for Settlement payment status.

Settled table

This table displays payment methods that have been approved and settled.

Note: the amounts here may not match when compared to the Sales Summary by Payment Method table. This is due to the default batch cutoff time found in your store settings.

The payment method used to complete the sale.

Clicking on a payment method will open the Batch Reconciliation Report and filter it by the same date range and payment method that you had selected in the Sales and Attendance Summary Report.

From Card Reader

If the card reader payment method was used to make the purchase, this column displays the amount of the transaction that was approved and batched.

From Virtual Terminal

If the virtual terminal payment method was used to make the purchase, this column displays the amount of the transaction that was approved and batched.

For ACH transactions this column will display the amount of the transaction with the Successful payment status.

Visits by Purchase Option

Note: ClassPass and Wellhub visits aren’t included in this table.

Heading

Description

Service Type

The type of service that was attended.

  • Clicking on Class, Appointment, Event, or Asset Reservation in this column will take you to the Attendance with Purchase Option Details Report and filter it by the same date range and service type from the Sales and Attendance Summary Report.

  • Clicking on Gym Visit will take you to the Check-Ins Report filtered by gym visits within the same date range.

Drop-Ins

The number of drop-in visits during the selected date range.

Memberships

The number of visits paid with a membership during the selected date range.

Passes

The number of visits paid with a session pass during the selected date range.

Unpaid

The number of unpaid visits for the selected date range.

Clicking a number in this column will take you to the Unpaid Visits Details Report filtered by the same date range and service type.

Total Visits

The sum of all visits for the selected date range.

Revenue by Service Type

Note: ClassPass and Wellhub visits aren’t included in this table.

Heading

Description

Service Type

The type of service that was attended.

Clicking on Class, Appointment, Event, or Asset Reservation in this column will take you to the Revenue by Service Report and filter it by the same date range and service type from the Sales and Attendance Summary Report.

Drop-Ins

The amount of revenue from drop-in visits during the selected date range.

This amount is the same as the sum of the Revenue column in the Revenue by Service Report for the same date range and service type.

Memberships

The amount of revenue from memberships during the selected date range.

This amount is the same as the sum of the Revenue column in the Revenue by Service Report for the same date range and service type.

Passes

The amount of revenue from session passes during the selected date range.

This amount is the same as the sum of the Revenue column in the Revenue by Service Report for the same date range and service type.

Total Revenue

The sum of all revenue from drop-ins, memberships, and session passes.
