Processor error codes and their definitions
Updated over 2 months ago

When a transaction can’t be processed, the processor error code and/or decline reason will be shown at the time of purchase, in the transaction details on a client’s Transactions page, and in the All Sales Report. This allows you to identify the reason the transaction failed.

Refer to the table below to learn about the error codes associated with each card processor. The table provides a definition for each error code to explain why the processor declined the transaction, and a potential solution to help fix the issue.

Caution: If you use Paysafe, or depending on your issuing bank’s security policies, two failed payment attempts can potentially block a client’s credit card for seven days. For more information regarding the security measures used by specific merchant processors, contact your merchant processor.
