You can customize sales receipts by adding text or notes, such as promotional offers, your business slogan, or transaction details. Sales receipts are sent to customers when staff process a sale on either the Staff Back Office or Elevate Staff App.
Custom text can be applied from the Store Settings, which is applied to all sales receipts, or during checkout as custom note for a single transaction.
Add custom text from Store Settings
To add custom text to all sales receipts using the Store Settings:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > Setup > Store Configuration > Store Settings.
Under Receipt Text, enter your custom text (Maximum 9934 characters).
Click Save.
Add custom notes to a receipt during checkout
To add custom notes to a sales receipt during checkout:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > Setup > Store Configuration > Store Settings.
Under Receipts, set Add custom receipt notes at checkout to ON.
Under Add receipt notes, enter your custom note.
The custom note is limited to a maximum of 250 characters.
For email receipts, enable the Sales Receipt email notification and add the custom note email variable to the Sales Receipt email template.
Click Complete.
Add the custom note email variable to your Sales Receipt email template
To add the custom note email variable to your Sales Receipt email template:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > Setup > Notifications > Client Notifications.
Under Purchases, enable the Sales Receipt email notification.
Click the Edit button
On the Edit Sales Receipt Template, click View email variables.
Next to the [ReceiptNotes] email variable, click the Copy
button.
Under Email Content, paste the [ReceiptNotes] variable into the template where you want the custom note to be displayed.
Configure the email template as needed. For more information, see Customizing your automated notifications.
Click Save.
Add the custom note email variable to a Purchase Option’s custom email receipt
To add the custom note email variable to a Purchase Option’s custom email receipt:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > Setup >Store Configuration > Purchase Options.
Select am existing Purchase Option or create a new one.
Under Receipt in the Purchase Option’s advanced settings, select Custom Email Receipt.
Add the [ReceiptNotes] variable to the email receipt template:
Click View email variables.
Next to the [ReceiptNotes] email variable, click the Copy
button.
In the body of the email receipt template, paste the [ReceiptNotes] variable where you want the custom note to be displayed.
Click Save.
