Enrolling into the Apple Developer Program as an organization
Updated over a week ago

Any business that wants to publish an iOS app must join the Apple Developer program. This also applies for WellnessLiving businesses looking to get started with the Achieve Client App. There are a few prerequisites for this, and this article will guide you through them.

Key tips before we begin

  • This procedure is done through Apple's website. For any support involving this procedure, see the Apple support center.

  • This procedure for enrolling as an organization is meant for businesses that are corporations (Corp., Inc.), limited liability corporations (LLC, LC, Ltd. Co.), or legal entities (GmbH, AG, KG, oHg, etc.) If your business is a sole proprietorship or single-person company, you must enroll as an individual.

  • Apple charges a $99 (USD) annual publisher fee to enroll in the Apple Developer Program. The fee is the same whether you enroll as an individual or an organization.

Preparing for your enrolment

  1. Create an Apple ID. — If you already have an Apple ID, use your existing one. Please note that creating an Apple ID is not the same as creating an Apple Developer account. If you don’t know what an Apple ID is or how to create one, check out how to create Your Apple ID on Apple’s support center.

  2. Enable two-factor authentication on your Apple account. — To learn how to do this, check out how to disable two-step verification and enable two-factor authentication on Apple’s support center.

  3. Prepare your business’s email address. — You can start signing up for the Apple Developer Program with a personal email like [email protected], but later Apple will ask for a business-related email using your website’s domain, like [email protected].

  4. Prepare your business’s URL – You will need to provide a URL for your business when enrolling, and we recommend using your business’s public-facing website. If you don’t have your own domain, you can use the URL for your Client Web App. To find your Client Web App URL, see Viewing your business URLs.

  5. Acquire a D-U-N-S® Number — Apple requires all businesses that enroll in the Apple Developer Program to provide a D-U-N-S number; a unique identifier assigned to a business by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). It’s used by Apple to validate your business’s identity and legal status. To acquire a D-U-N-S, see Requesting a D-U-N-S Number on the Apple Developer website. For more information about D-U-N-S Numbers, visit Apple Support.

    • As part of their verification process, a D&B representative may contact you directly for more information (such as your type of business, your number of employees). Please have your business registration documents ready.

    • Keep in mind that the information you submit when requesting a D-U-N-S Number must exactly match the information you submit when enrolling in the Apple Developer Program.

Enrolling in the Apple Developer Program as an organization

  1. Go to the Apple Developer Program enrolment page and click Start Your Enrolment.

  2. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.

  3. Apple will prompt you to complete two-factor authentication. Click Allow on your mobile device to receive a verification code.

  4. Under Two-factor Authentication on your browser, enter the verification code sent to your mobile device and click Continue.

  5. Read and agree to the Apple Developer Agreement, then click Submit.

  6. Click Continue enrolment on the web.

  7. Select Company / Organization and click Continue.

  8. Under Authority to Sign Legal Agreements, select the appropriate option:

    • I am the owner/founder and have the authority to bind my organization to legal agreements

      • If you select this option, enter your email address in the Work Email field. The email address you enter must match the one you provided when requesting a D-U-N-S Number.

    • My organization has given me the authority to bind it to legal agreements

      • If you select this option, in the Verification Contact field, enter a senior employee’s contact information. Apple will use this information to contact the senior employee at your organization and confirm enrolment in the Apple Developer Program.

  9. Under Organization Information, enter the following:

    • In the Legal Entity Name field, enter the name of your business exactly as it appears in the D-U-N-S lookup.

    • In the D-U-N-S Number field, enter the nine-digit D-U-N-S Number assigned to your business.

    • In the Website field, enter your business’s public-facing website’s URL if your business owns the domain, or enter your Client Web App URL If you don’t have one.

    • In the Headquarters Phone field, enter a phone number where Apple can reach you to verify enrolment.

    • In the Tax ID/National ID field, enter your organization’s Tax ID/National ID. (This is an optional field)

  10. Complete the CAPTCHA and click Continue.

    • If you receive an error message under the Legal Entity Name field, click update your D&B profile and submit your business’s information. You may continue this procedure once your profile has been updated.

  11. On the Summary for Review page, review and confirm the information. Select the This is the correct headquarters address for my organization checkbox and click Submit.

  12. When you receive an email from Apple with the subject line Your program enrolment has been received, forward this email to [email protected].

  13. Apple will send a confirmation email to your Apple ID email address with a link enclosed to confirm and pay for your developer membership.

    • Under Automatic Renewal, select the checkbox to renew your membership automatically.

    • If you don’t select automatic renewal, you will need to set an annual reminder on your calendar to renew your membership.

    • Apps with expired memberships are removed from the App Store 24 hours after expiration.

After your enrolment

  1. After you submit the necessary information to enroll in the Apple Developer Program, Apple will call you to verify your information. During this call, you need to provide Apple with your D-U-N-S Number and the information you used to request your D-U-N-S Number. You also need to show Apple your business information (addresses, hours, etc.) on either your own website or your WellnessLiving Explorer listing. To learn how to open your WellnessLiving Explorer listing, see Viewing your business URLs.

  2. Once everything’s done, you’ll need to invite WellnessLiving to your App Store Connect so that your app can be created and submitted to the App Store. To do this, complete the following steps:

    1. Go to https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/login and log in with your Apple Developer account information.

    2. Go to Users and Access then click the Add button

    3. In the popup, enter the following information:

      • In the First Name field, enter Achieve.

      • In the Last Name field, enter WellnessLiving.

      • In the Email field, enter [email protected].

    4. Click Next.

    5. Under Roles, select the Admin

    6. Under Developer Resources, select the Access to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles

    7. Click Invite.

  3. Keep an eye out for updates to Apple’s license agreement for the Apple Developer Program. If there is an update before your Achieve Client App is assembled, you will need to accept the agreement before your app can be built.

  4. If you have any questions or concerns, contact our Achieve Support Team at [email protected]. You can expect a reply in 1-2 business days.
