Question

An error message that reads Widget URL is broken (skin id is not specified) is displayed where a widget should appear. Why is the widget broken?

Answer

There are four possible reasons why this widget error may be displayed. To resolve the issue, follow the instructions below. If the issue persists after completing these steps, please contact WellnessLiving Support.

WordPress has blocked the widget URL

If this issue occurs on a WordPress website, WordPress has blocked the widget URL. For WordPress to allow the widget URL, you must install the Raw HTML plugin.

The widget requires a plugin on Wix or Squarespace

For other web development or content management services such as Wix or Squarespace, a similar plugin solution may be required. For more information, see Wix Support and Squarespace Support.

The widget code is not inserted correctly for your chosen content management service

If the issue can’t be resolved with a plugin, we recommend reviewing both WellnessLiving’s article on Embedding a widget into your website and embedding guidelines from your website editing platform to account for potential errors.

Your widget code was unexpectedly modified during a recent change to your website

This can be resolved by simply re-embedding the widget code on your website. You can do this by removing the code that is currently on your website, and then copying and pasting the code from WellnessLiving in its place. For more information about re-embedding a widget, see Embedding a widget into your website.
