Prevent Fraudulent Card Testing in WellnessLiving
Prevent Fraudulent Card Testing in WellnessLiving
Updated over a month ago

Fraudsters often attempt to use stolen credit cards to process test transactions that verify the card’s validity. Typically, these tests involve a high volume of small, rapid transactions, allowing the fraudster to determine if the card can be used for larger purchases or resold for profit.

To protect your business, WellnessLiving is equipped with an automated fraud prevention system designed to detect and block these fraudulent activities. This system monitors client profiles and transaction behavior, blocking payments if it detects any of the criteria listed below.

Criteria 1: High Volume of Failed Transactions

What triggers this?

  • Ten or more failed transactions within a 24-hour period.

When does the system start checking for this?

  • Monitoring begins from the first failed transaction.

What transactions does this apply to?

  • This applies to a single WellnessLiving client profile, or transactions originating from the same IP address.

How long will the system block payments?

  • Payments for the specific client profile, and any transactions originating from their IP address, are blocked for 24 hours.

Criteria 2: Multiple Failed Transactions with Different Cards

What triggers this?

  • Five or more failed transactions using different credit cards on the same client profile within 24 hours.

When does the system start checking for this?

  • Monitoring begins from the first failed transaction

What transactions does this apply to?

  • Any transactions that use different credit cards on the same client profile.

How long will the system block payments?

  • The client will be blocked for 24 hours, starting from the time the fifth failed attempt occurs. If further attempts are made after the initial five attempts, the blocking time is automatically extended.
