The image markup component, added when creating or modifying a form, allows you to add an image to a form that staff or clients can draw or write on before submitting. This feature is ideal for collecting information best communicated through a drawing.
Clients using the Achieve Client App and staff members using the Elevate Staff App can also mark up images on forms. The image markup component for mobile apps displays simpler editing options, allowing the person filling out the form to draw freehand lines in different colors.
Key tips before you begin
The default image for image markup can’t be changed when creating a form. However, if staff members want to use a different image for a client’s form, they can upload a custom image when they are completing it.
If you mark up an image and then submit the form without saving your changes, your drawings won’t be included on the submitted form.
Mark up an image in the Client Portal or the Staff Back Office
To mark up an image in the Client Portal or a Staff Back Office:
Click on the image.
Add shapes, drawings, or text to the image using the image markup menu:
Use the Cursor icon
to select markup that you have already added.
Use the Delete icon
to remove selected markup from the image.
Use the Undo icon
to undo the last change you made.
Use the Rectangle icon
to add a box to the image.
Use the Drawing icon
to draw freehand lines.
Use the Arrow icon
to add an arrow.
Use the Letter icon
to add text.
Use the Oval icon
to add ovals.
Use the Highlighter icon
to highlight an area.
Use the Text box icon
to add a text box.
Format the shapes, drawings, or text using the options on the bottom menu:
Use the Color icon
to set the color for lines, text or highlighted areas.
Use the Fill color icon
to set the background color for ovals or text boxes.
Use the Opacity icon
to set the opacity for ovals or highlighted areas.
Use the Line width icon
to set the line width for boxes, freehand lines, arrows, or ovals.
Use the Line style icon
to make solid or dotted lines for boxes, arrows, or ovals.
Use the Arrow type icon
to select an arrow type.
Use the Font icon
to choose a font for text.
Click the Checkmark icon
in the image markup menu to save your changes.
To reset all changes you haven’t yet saved, click the Cancel icon
Mark up an image in the Achieve Client App or the Elevate Staff App
To mark up an image in the Achieve Client App or the Elevate Staff App:
Tap on one of the colored circles below the image to select a line color.
Use your finger to draw freehand lines on the image.
Tap a different colored circle below the image to change the line color.
Tap the Line Thickness button
at the top of the image to choose your line thickness.
Tap Undo to undo the last change you made.
Tab Clear to erase all the lines you added.
Tap Save.
Upload a custom image to a form
To upload a custom image to a form:
At the bottom of the image markup section, click Upload Custom Image.
Select an image to upload. You’ll have different options depending on whether you’re using the Staff Back Office or the Elevate Staff App.
If you’re using the Staff Back Office, you can drag and drop an image into the popup dialog, or you can navigate to and select the image to upload.
If you’re using the Elevate Staff App, you can take a photo using your mobile device or you can select an image from your library.
Click Save.
