Store categories can be used to organize items in your store, including purchase options, products, gift cards, and events, which can be placed in one or more categories. Your store is equipped with default categories, which you can modify and you can create as many custom store categories as needed.
Once you've created categories for your online store, you can organize the order in which both the categories and the items within them appear.
For more information on how to add an item to a store category, see Setting an item’s store category.
Key tips before you begin:
Any item that is not assigned a store category will be placed in the Unassigned category. You cannot edit or delete this category. If you do not create any other categories, every item in this category will be displayed in your online store by default.
If there are no items in a store category, the category will not appear in your online store, even when you select Selected by Default in Store.
If an item is included in more than one store category and both of those categories are selected in the online store, the item will appear according to sorting rules for the first category to which the item was added.
