The table below outlines booking rules and expected behaviors for family member bookings when clients book services for their relationships.

Notifications

Expected behavior

The family member is a new client.

  • If the business has two locations, the home location of the family member will follow the client’s home location.

  • The family member will receive the welcome email after creating an account with WellnessLiving, if enabled.

  • Both the client and their family member will receive the booking confirmation notifications and appointment requested notifications if enabled.

  • The family member will receive the Appointment Request Approved notification and any notifications that are normally sent after a booking is made, such as:

    • Class Details Changed

    • Class Canceled by Staff

    • Appointment Canceled by Staff

Online waivers

Rule

Expected behavior

The family member is not a child.

  • Any online waivers will be added to the family member’s profile as unsigned. They will be able to complete the online waivers on their own.

  • Any forms will be added to the family member’s profile as not completed. They will be able to complete the forms on their own.

  • The Documents section in the family member’s profile will be hidden during the class or event booking flow.

The family member is a child.

  • The client, who is a parent to the family member, will be required to sign all online waivers and forms on behalf of their child.

  • If the family member is a new client and a child, the online waiver will be added to the Documents section of their client profile, and the step after service selection for appointment bookings.

Payments

The client is handling their family member’s transactions.

  • The client will pay for the services and products at the time of purchase in the store, and all subsequent payments.

  • Any cancellation fees for the service will be charged to the client’s account and paid by them.

  • If the client already shares an applicable Purchase Option with the family member that can be used to pay for the service, the Purchase Option will automatically be used to pay for the booking.

The client isn’t handling their family member’s transactions.

  • Any cancellation fees for the service will be charged to their family member’s account and paid by the client.

Rewards points

When the client booked a service for a family member, the reward points earned for booking will be awarded to the family member.

Purchase

When the client makes a purchase for a family member, the reward points earned for the purchase will be awarded to the client.

Social media sharing

When the client shares the family member’s booking on social media, the reward points earned for sharing will be awarded to the client.

Attendance

When a family member attends a service booked by the client, the reward points earned for the attendance will be awarded to the family member.

Reviews

When a family leaves a review after attending the service, the reward points earned for the review will be awarded to the family member.

Registration

When the client has added a family member as a new client, the reward points earned for registration will be awarded to the family member.
