Manage multiple commission pay rates for a staff member

You can create multiple commission pay rates for product sales and services. For example, you could set up a commission rate for selling merchandise and memberships, and a different commission rate for classes and appointments.

Key tips

  • For product commissions, rates are set at the time of sale. For service commissions, rates are set under the staff member’s services.

  • Commission is based on the final price after discounts:

    • % commission: Staff earn a percentage of the discounted price.

    • Fixed commission: Staff get either the set amount or the discounted price, whichever is less.

Set up multiple commission pay rates for a staff member

To set up multiple commission pay rates for a staff member:

  1. Open the App Drawer then click View All > Setup > Staff > Staff Members.

  2. Select a staff member.

  3. In the staff member’s profile, click the Pay rates tab.

  4. Click Add new pay rate and select Commission rate.

  5. In the Pay rate name box, type a name for the pay rate.

  6. In the Pay Rate list, select the pay rate type, either Flat or Percent.

  7. In the Pay rate box, type the rate.

  8. Click Add Rate. Repeat as needed.

Apply the commission pay rate for product sales

To apply the commission pay rate for product sales:

  1. Open the App Drawer then click View All > Store.

  2. Under Customer Information, select an existing client or click Add Client.

  3. Select the Apply a commission rate for a staff member check box.

  4. In the Select Staff list, select the staff member who will receive the commission from the sale.

  5. Add the products to be purchased to the shopping cart, and click Proceed to Checkout.

  6. Complete the transaction. The commission rate for the sale will be applied to the staff member.

Apply the commission pay rate for services

To apply the commission pay rate for services:

  1. Open the App Drawer then click View All > Setup > Staff > Staff Members.

  2. Select a staff member.

  3. In the staff member’s profile, click the Services tab.

  4. Select a commission rate for each service.

  5. Click Save. The commission rates are applied to the selected services for the staff member.
