Understanding the time clock

The time clock tracks your staff members’ working hours at your business. When a staff member clocks in or out, their actions are recorded in the edit log, which also displays the IP address they used while performing the action.

What you can do with the time clock

The time clock is used to track and calculate the pay for a staff member. Here are some ways you can use the time clock:

  • Clock in and out – Staff members can clock in and out through their profile slide out.

  • Monitor working hours and calculate a staff member’s pay – You can monitor your staff member’s clock in and out times and calculate their pay.

  • Manage working hours – You or staff members can add or adjust time clock entries.

Getting started with the time clock

Before you or your staff members start using the time clock, follow these steps:

  1. Enable the time clock staff role permissions – Use the Staff Back Office of WellnessLiving to set up the staff role permissions for you or your staff members. For more information, see Staff under Staff role permissions.

  2. Start clocking in and out – Once everything is set up, you or your staff members can clock in and out on the profile slide out.

Key tips

  • Managing the time clock

    • You must be assigned to a staff role with the Manage time clock permission to manage the time clock for another staff member.

    • Staff members can manage their own time clock if they’re assigned to a staff role with the Manage my time clock permission. For more information, see Staff role permissions.

  • Calculating a staff member’s pay

    • A staff member’s pay will be calculated when an hourly rate has been configured for the staff member and the Use time clock to calculate staff pay is selected. For more information, see Pay rates.

      • If a staff member doesn’t clock in, they’ll still get paid their hourly wage for the time they take part in class and event sessions.
