Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding signing up for the A2P 10 DLC messaging system. If your question isn’t addressed in this article, consider posting it on WellnessLiving’s Community Forum.

Registration and requirements

What is the cost to register for A2P 10DLC?

There is no additional cost to register for A2P 10DLC. Any fees associated with registering for A2P 10DLC are covered by WellnessLiving.

Note: There are separate fees for using WellnessLiving SMS services and Message Center. For more information on plans and pricing, see Types of SMS messaging and Message Center: Subscription plans and pricing.

There are three campaigns to select from on the A2P registration form:

  • Starter: If your business sends up to 3,000 message segments (1 segment =160 characters) in a day, and you don’t have a tax ID, you can sign up for the starter campaign.

  • Low-Volume: If your business sends up to 6,000 message segments in a day, and has a tax ID, you can sign up for the low-volume campaign.

  • Standard: If your business sends over 6,000 message segments in a day, and has a tax ID, you can sign up for the standard campaign which allows you to send an unlimited number of message segments.

I have already paid for SMS services in WellnessLiving. Do I still need to sign up for the A2P 10 DLC messaging system?

Yes. If you are based in the US, you must sign up for the A2P 10DLC messaging system as part of the regulatory requirement to continue to send or receive SMS messages.

I have already signed up for a Message Center subscription plan in WellnessLiving. Do I still need to pay for the A2P 10DLC messaging system?

Yes. If you are based in the US, you must sign up for the A2P 10DLC messaging system and pay the fee as part of the regulatory requirement.

If you're currently enrolled in a Message Center subscription plan, you're still entitled to the subscription, but you must complete your A2P 10DLC application before you can continue to send or receive SMS messages.

What information will I need to provide to register for A2P 10DLC?

All the information your business needs to provide can be found on Twilio’s Support Center. This information is reflected on the A2P Registration Form in WellnessLiving when Signing up for the A2P 10DLC messaging system.

It’s important to note that even if your business doesn't have an EIN (Employer Identification Number), you're still able to register for A2P 10DLC and must do so if you want to send automated marketing notifications, client notifications, and custom SMS messages to clients.

What is the brand registration status?

When you’re completing the A2P application, you must fill out the information about your business under the BUSINESS INFORMATION section. That information will then be reviewed and verified by the mobile carrier, and the outcome from that review will be reflected in this field.

Why did my sole proprietor brand registration fail?

What are the limitations for sole proprietor registration?

When you register for the starter brand campaign, you’re limited to only one campaign, one phone number per campaign, and one throughout limit of 1 Message Per Second (MPS).

Keep in mind that OTP verification is only required for US sole proprietors who are registering for the starter campaign. If you’re registering for the low volume or standard campaign, OTP verification isn’t necessary.

I am a sole proprietor without a tax ID. Can I register for the low-volume or standard campaign?

No, you need a tax ID to qualify for the low-volume or standard campaign. If your business evolves and you obtain a tax ID at a later stage, you can change your plan to the low-volume campaign or standard campaign by resubmitting your A2P application, then getting it reapproved. To change your plan, please contact WellnessLiving Support.

I am a sole proprietor who has acquired a tax ID. Can I change my A2P plan?

If you are a sole proprietor who has acquired a tax ID, you can change your plan from the starter campaign to the low-volume campaign or standard campaign by resubmitting your A2P application, then getting it reapproved. To change your plan, please contact WellnessLiving Support.

Miscellaneous

Can I change my A2P plan?

Yes. You can always change your selected plan to fit your business needs. You can upgrade to the standard campaign or downgrade to the low-volume campaign.

If you’re a sole proprietor who later obtains a tax ID, you can change your plan from the starter campaign to the low-volume campaign or standard campaign, depending on the number of message segments your business requires. To change your plan, please contact WellnessLiving Support.

Keep in mind that if you decide to change your plan, you’ll have to resubmit your A2P application and be reapproved.

How do I complete the one-time password (OTP) verification?

After submitting your A2P application as a sole proprietor, you’ll be required to complete the OTP verification using the registered mobile number. You’ll receive a one-time password (OTP) verification from The Campaign Registry (TCR) that you must respond to within 24 hours. Otherwise, click Resend OTP Verification on the A2P STATUS page to resend the verification code.

Respond to the message to complete the Brand verification. You should receive a confirmation message that says Thank you. Your registration has been confirmed.

How do I know when my application has been approved?

The status of the application will be updated on the A2P Status page. Once your application is approved, both brand registration and campaign registration statuses will display Approved, and the long-code phone number allocated to your business will be displayed.

What is the campaign registration status?

Every business must indicate use case examples of how SMS communication is used in their business. WellnessLiving registers its customers under the Mixed use case by default, where multiple use cases such as marketing, administration, and direct SMS are being submitted for verification.

When trying to access SMS services, why did an error appear asking me to contact WellnessLiving Support to submit the A2P registration form?

If this error appears, this means that we haven’t received your A2P application yet. Please submit your A2P application form or contact WellnessLiving Support for further assistance.
