Video categories organize your videos and control client access.
Key tips before you begin
Clients can’t search for or view a video unless it’s assigned to at least one category.
If both Enable for specific Client Types and Enable for specific Client Groups are OFF, all videos in that category will be viewable by anyone, even clients that aren’t signed in.
If you share a direct URL to a video in a category that's available to anyone, they'll be able to see all videos in that category. This can be useful for sharing intro videos with potential clients.
Create a video category
To create or modify a video category:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > FitVID > Video Categories.
Click Add category.
Under Video Category Name, enter the name of the video category.
Set the Enable only for specific Client Types option to ON to select which client types can view the videos in this video category.
Select the client types or click Select All.
Set the Enable only for specific Client Groups option to ON to select which client groups can view the videos in this category.
Select the client groups or click Select All.
Click Save.
Modify a video category
To modify a video category:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > FitVID > Video Categories.
Click the Action
button on the video category you want to modify and then click the Edit
button.
Under Video Category Name, enter the name of the video category.
Set the Enable only for specific Client Types option to ON to select which client types can view the videos in this video category.
Select the client types or click Select All.
Set the Enable only for specific Client Groups option to ON to select which client groups can view the videos in this category.
Select the client groups or click Select All.
Click Save.
Share a video category
To share a video category:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > FitVID >Video Categories.
On the Video Categories page, click the Action
button for the video category you want to share, then click the Copy Video Category URL
button.
If a video category has no videos within it, the Copy Video Category URL button
will be disabled and you won’t be able to share the video category with a client.
If the link for a video category is shared with a client, but then all videos from that category are removed, the client will be asked to select another video category in the Client Portal when they click that link.
Paste the link in a message to a client or embed this link in your website to provide direct access to the videos in that video category.
When someone clicks the link, the Watch Video tab in the Client Portal will open and it will be filtered to only display videos in that category.
Delete a video category
Note: categories can't be deleted if videos are assigned to them. If videos are assigned to a category you want to delete, you'll need to reassign them to a different category first.
To delete a video category:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > FitVID > Video Categories.
In the Video Categories list, click the Action
button for the video category you want to delete, and then click the Delete
button.
In the confirmation popup, click OK.
