Question
When trying to use WellnessLiving, pages take a long time to load or don’t load at all. Why is this happening?
Answer
First, we recommend checking the WellnessLiving Status page to check if all systems are operational. Occasionally, WellnessLiving will be taken offline for system maintenance, or due to a server error. Once systems are back online again, the load times for your business should return to normal.
As a web-based application, WellnessLiving requires data to be loaded on both the client’s side (your side) and the server’s side (our side). To pinpoint the root cause of the issue, we first need to determine which side the issues are coming from.
To resolve the issue, follow the instructions below. If the issue persists after completing these steps, please contact WellnessLiving Support.
Long loading times: client’s side
Reason | Solution |
A weak, slow, or interrupted internet connection to your modem or router. |

A heavy load on your computer’s hardware. This can occur if you have a lot of tabs open in your browser, or several applications running on your computer at once. | This scenario is easy to identify, as the speed of all applications and functions on your computer will likely be slower than they usually are. You may also notice your computer increasing in temperature, or your computer’s fan(s) spinning noticeably faster than normal.
You can always check to see how well your computer is running using the Task Manager on Windows (Ctrl+Shift+Escape) or Activity Monitor on Mac (Command+Space and type “Activity Monitor”). Any applications that are putting a heavy burden on your hardware will be listed in the Task Manager or Activity Monitor. Closing them should help improve performance.
Note: Some parts of WellnessLiving require slightly more processing power to run properly. The most common example of this is the schedule. When you’re viewing the schedule, you can speed up the performance of the page by disabling the drag and drop feature if you have it enabled. |
Browser settings, extensions, cookies, or cached data that may impact WellnessLiving’s ability to function correctly. | If you think this may be the issue, we recommend returning your browser’s settings to default, disabling any extensions you have enabled or clearing your browsing data. For more information and assistance on how to do this, please refer to your browser’s help center: Note: WellnessLiving only supports the four browsers listed above. Using an unsupported browser may cause WellnessLiving to function incorrectly. For more information on browser support, see FAQ: Which browsers does WellnessLiving support? |
Long loading times: server’s side
Reason | Solution |
A heavy load on the server due to high network traffic. | This can occur if an unexpectedly high number of WellnessLiving users attempt to access the site at the same time. WellnessLiving will notify all customers of any server outages when they occur. |
Network latency; delay between the server and client connection. | High latency is usually caused by physical distance between the server and the client. Some of our international customers may encounter this issue.
Please contact WellnessLiving support if you’re a customer outside of North America and you believe this to be the root cause of your issue. |
Domain Name System (DNS) errors. | DNS errors can originate from either side but may be quickly solved on the client’s side. If you’ve exhausted all the other options to improve load times and you’re still experiencing issues, this may likely be the solution.
