Gift card advanced settings

This article describes all the advanced settings available for gift cards when you’re:

Setting

Description

Activation Date

Determines when the gift card will activate. Your choices are:

  • On the sale date – The gift card will activate on the date the gift card is purchased.

  • Choose a date – The gift card will activate on the date chosen.

Select Expiration

Determines when the gift card will expire. Your choices are:

  • Does not expire – The gift card does not expire. If you select this option, the gift card will be valid for 10 years.

  • Expires x day/week/month/year After sale – The gift card will expire after the specified amount of time.

  • Choose expiry date – The gift card will expire on the selected date.

Purchase Restrictions

The purchase rules for the gift card:

  • Select Client can buy online or Only staff can sell this product depending on whether you want to allow clients to buy the gift card online or only through a staff member.

  • Select which clients can purchase this gift card: Available to all clients, Introductory offer for new clients only, or Available to selected client groups or types only. If you select Available to selected client groups or types only, then under CLIENT TYPES and CLIENT GROUPS, select the client types and client groups whose members can purchase this gift card.

Select Regional Access

The location(s) where the gift card can be redeemed. When creating a gift card, you need to select the locations in which clients will be able to redeem the gift card.

Note: This option is only available for Enterprise Cloud users.

Revenue Category

The revenue categories assigned to this gift card.

Click Search and select items… to select revenue categories. From here, you can also choose to Add new categories or Manage your existing categories.

Remove revenue categories by clicking Remove on individual categories, or by clicking Clear all.
